Healthy Snacks

So it's summer time, which for me means time to get healthy. I been exercising and looking up great meals and snacks. I will probably be doing more posts including fun ways to exercise, great healty meals, and exercise clothes and equpiment. So I'm goping to start off with fun ways to make fruit even better. Now the first way you've probably already seen, it is fruit popsicles, I saw Macbarbie07 make some and I also saw a make your own popsicles in seventeen magazine. So her's macbarbie07's video (Bethany):

1. Fruit Popsicles:
Yum! I love fruit and I think this just makes it better, I mean it ht outside and why eat sugar loaded ones. Now the next way is also obvious, and it is to make a fruit parfait. You could eat this for breakfast actually to get your metabolism started, or you could eat it as a mid-day snack.

2. Fruit Parfait:
Add yogurt to the bottom of a cup or bowl, then add fruit, you could use berries, cut up strawberrys, or really ny kind you like, then add some more yougurt on top. You could also add some gronala to the top.



okay so how about veggies, they aren't as sweet and not as appealing, but don't get em wrong, I still love them. Now what you could do is dip them in any low fat or non-fat dip. You could also make a salad, or make a smoothie.

 3. Smoothies

Here is a recipie you may want to try, remember everyone has different taste, so you may not like it.
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 cup of sliced apple (sweet tasting apples are better)
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup sliced carrots
  • 1/2 cup of cucumber (peeled and sliced)
  • 2 cups of ice
  • a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon (optional)
okay so you think that recipie is disgusting.. the try a fruit smoothie instead.

  •  12 oz. Lowfat  Milk
  • 1 1/2 cups (to 2 cups) whole strawberries, frozen or fresh
  • 1 container (8 oz.) sugar-free strawberry yogurt
 basic right? You could always google more.

4. Popcorn

Popcorn is one of the easiest snacks. It can be really health if you do it right. Just buy plain popcorn. Don't add butter, but if you need a little flavor add some seasoning or a little bit of salt and pepper.
 
5. Chips?
If you are wanting chips, but don't want to have all that fat go into your body, just try baked or kettle cooked, they are much healthier and I think they taste better.
